Tomato rice

Simple,quick,spicy,delicious tomato rice made with a few ingredients and less time.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cooked rice

  • 2 tomatoes chopped(puree)

  • 1 Green chilli slit length wise

  • 1 onion finely chopped

  • 1/4 spoon ginger garlic paste

  • 1 inch cinnamon stick (patta)

  • 2-3 cloves (Lavangam)

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 1/2 tbsp jeera

  • 1/4 tbsp turmeric

  • Salt to taste

  • 1/2 tbsp chilli powder

  • Chopped coriander leaves

  • 2 tbsp oil /ghee

Pr​eparation :

  1. Heat 2 tbsp of oil or ghee in a kadai and add cinnamon,cloves,bay leaf, jeera.

  2. Add finely chopped onions and saute till it turns translucent

  3. Add green chillies and ginger garlic paste and saute for a few more mins

  4. Then add tomato puree, turmeric powder,salt,chilli powder.

  5. Cook until oil separates from the tomato puree.

  6. Then add cooked rice to the tomato gravy and mix well

  7. Serve the tomato rice into a bowl and garnish it with coriander leaves
