Cabbage kofta curry

Cabbage Koftas are fried dumplings in a variety of spicy gravies. The dumplings can be made using a variety of vegetables.This recipe uses cabbage.
Ingredients:(for dumplings)
> finely chopped cabbage - 2 cups
> 3/4 cup gram flour as needed
> 1/4 inch chopped ginger (crushed finely)
> 1 chopped green chilli
> some coriander leaves
> salt as required
> oil for deep frying
INGREDIENTS FOR CURRY:
> 3 medium size Tomatoes(finely chopped)
> 2 chopped green chilli
> 1/4 inch chopped ginger
> 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder(Dhania powder)
> 1/2 spoon red chilli powder
> 1/2 spoon turmeric powder
> 1/2 teaspoon salt
> 2 table spoons curd
> 1 teaspoon cumin seeds(jeera)
> 1 table spoon gram flour
METHOD:
for koftas (dumplings)
1. In a mixing bowl,take chopped cabbage,ginger,green chilli,coriander leaves,salt,gram flour.
2.Mix them well.There is no need to add water because cabbage itself releases some juices.so make it as a mixture.
3.now take a little amount from that mixture and mould them into a round ball.do the same for whole mixture,and keep those round balls(koftas) on a plate.
4.Heat oil in the fry pan for deep fry.after the oil is heated,deep fry the koftas until they turn into golden brown all around.avoid overcrowding in the pan.
5.now keep them aside and let them dry
For gravy:
1.take those chopped tomatoes,ginger,green chilli and blend them and make it into a puree.
2.Heat the oil in a saucepan on medium-high. Test the heat by adding one cumin seed to the oil; if it cracks right away oil is ready.
3.Now add the cumin seeds and the gram flour and fry them until the raw aroma goes away.next add the puree that we have already made earlier and stir it well by adding turmeric powder,chilli powder,coriander powder,salt and let it take some consistency time until the oil starts leaving from the gravy.
4.Next add yogurt(curd) and cook for another minute.now add water.adjust the thickness of the gravy to your taste by adjusting the water.Add the prepared koftas and let it simmer for another 7 to 8 minutes.
5.Turn off the flame.take the gravy into a bowl and garnish it with coriander leaves.
Cabbage kofta is ready to serve.serve the curry with roti,rice or naan.
